Sandy Weatherall will be our speaker on October 31st.  She will present on behalf of "Save Ipswich Wildlife" in support of a measure to reduce the use of poisoinous pesticides.

Sandy shares, that "second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs), used to control rodents, are highly toxic and cause internal bleeding. Dying or dead rodents become easy prey for owls, hawks, foxes and pets.

"These poisons are also a danger to children. Recognizing the public health risk, particularly to children, the EPA banned the retail sale of SGARs in 2015 and yet they may still be purchased by licensed pest control companies.

"We at Save Ipswich Wildlife are seeking to prohibit the use of second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides on Town property and to educate the community on alternatives to poison.

"We encourage Ipswich businesses to join us by taking the the Poison Free Pledge."
