Peace Pole Project Update - 2014

As our Ipswich High School Interact Club wraps up another year of service and fellowship, we remember that it was one year ago this month that the club completed its historic "Peace Pole Project".  Many of the members involved in that project continue as leaders and members of the club this year.  During the course of the project, Interact dedicated 5 peace poles, all of which are inscribed "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in eight languages.

The pole locations are near the entrances of the High School, Middle School, and Doyon School, at the entrance to the Winthrop School playground, and at Rotary Park adjacent to the Ipswich YMCA.  The poles remind students, faculty, and all of us that schools should be a safe place and the cradles of world peace.  Leaders of the 2012-13 club also spoke at "Rotary Day at the UN" in November 2012, bringing their message of community service and world peace to the youth of the world.
